Biophysical and Geophysical Services

RREC has enhanced their reclamation services to include a forward thinking approach to environmental assessments with the addition of a full time professional geophysicist and biologists.

Biophysical Services

RREC has professional biologists and other experienced specialists from various biophysical disciplines to support all project phases of closure work. Abandoned wellsites that have been left untouched for extended periods of time can naturally revegetate and impact surface drainage, providing habitat for a range of species including protected wildlife such as migratory birds and various species at risk. Damaging sensitive aquatic habitats or disturbing prescribed wildlife species in an effort to reclaim a site can create an adverse effect to the environment. RREC has a multi-disciplinary team that specializes in soils, vegetation, aquatics and wildlife in order to support our client’s environmental needs, mitigate impacts to wildlife and ensure compliance with various legislation and regulations

Geophysical Services

Utilizing the most advanced technology, RREC is conducting electromagnetic surveys and analyzing trends in the apparent conductivity of soils to report the influence of anthropogenic impacts.

The use of geophysics has allowed RREC to successfully advance several initiatives through to closure without the need for further, and sometimes without initial, analysis of soil and groundwater chemistry.

Paired with a Garmin Global Positioning System antenna and Trimble Nomad data collector, data logged from a Geophex Ltd. GEM-2 is recorded in five operating frequencies and reviewed in real-time. The ability to dispute anthropogenic impacts at a non-invasive level by a professional in both geophysics and upstream oil and gas has proven to be a cost-effective solution for our clients.
